Popularly known as the land of milk and honey, Mbarara is located about 290 km away from Kampala city by road. The City has an airstrip located 14 kilometers northwest of the Mbarara central business district.
Situated in the South Western part of Uganda, Mbarara is the cradle home of Ankole kingdom and the Long Horned Cattle. Blessed with cool tropical climate, stunning landscapes and enormous water bodies, Mbarara has got a number of interesting tourist attractions in and around the town.

Mbarara City is the second largest metropolitan area after Kampala city.
